Hi! I’m Rosie, I’m a writer based in East London. I grew up in Gloucestershire, South West England, and I went to Cambridge University where I studied English literature.

I started writing my first novel, What Red Was, a year after I graduated. The book was published in 2019 by Harvill Secker to critical accalim and translated into six languages. I was listed as an Observer Hottest-Tipped Debut Novelist of 2019 and an Elle One to Watch. Harvill Secker published my second novel, The Orange Room, in July 2024.

I’m studying for a PhD in Creative Non-Fiction at King’s College London, for which I am writing my first non-fiction book, a collection of personal and philosophical essays about sexual violence. Alongside my writing work, I am also a speaker and advocate for victims and survivors of sexual, intimate partner and gender-based violence.
